Manamaya Kosha (Mental / Emotional Body)
This is a big one. Yoga psychotherapy helps us on the way here. We’ll look at how and why yoga helps our mental well-being. We will get into those practices with new awareness.
Most of us know of the yogic chakra system, the ‘turbines’ of energy reaching from the tailbone through the crown of the head. Less well known is the kosha model of the body. According to yoga, our bodies have 5 sheaths ranging in subtlety (a bit like the elements).
The 5 sheaths are
Physical - Annamaya Kosha
Energetic - Pranamaya Kosha
Mental Emotional - Manamaya Kosha
Inner Knowing - Vijnanamaya Kosha
Spiritual - Anandamaya Kosha
All workshops touch into yoga philosophy and therapy. We use a range methods, from pranayama to asana to the felt sense and somatic experience to inquire and invite in greater feeling for our each sheath.
